  • Voices123.com ----I've been trying this site out for a few months... I've talked to some people who feel it hasn't worked for them. My experience has been pretty positive. I've booked several jobs on this site. It isn't likely that you could make a living doing nothing but Voices123, but if you have a home studio, it should be part of your marketing. Producers are there, looking for talent...so it makes sense to go fishing where the fish are. You also get feedback, which I found instructive. I'll be doing an upcoming article on what I've learned to do (and learned not to do) to get more out of Voices123.
  • RULE ONE, when they say don't audition for everything they send you--they mean it. Be choosey, and be honest about what you're right for. You get better rankings, and better results that way.
  • Also, to take advantage of a venue like Voices123, you need to be equipped with a reliable home studio set-up, which can be as modest as a USB studio microphone, like those from MXL or Samson, and Audacity, the remarkable free audio editor. The better your home recording skills, software and equipment, the better your results will be. Home studio is not for everyone...but it is a fast-growing part of the marketplace, and essential if you want to win on Voices123. Click on the Voiceover book link(on the right)...to find out more thoughts about home studios.
